Wildlife safari & Cultural Experience
Get ready for an amazing adventure! We'll pick you up bright and early from the lodge and head off to Tarangire National Park for an incredible game drive with a packed lunch. After an incredible game drive, we'll head back to the lodge for some well-deserved relaxation before an overnight stay.
The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which meanders through the park and is the only source of water for the wildlife during the dry season – a truly amazing sight to behold! The park is world-renowned for its impressive elephant herds and boasts a diverse array of breathtaking landscapes, from vibrant seasonal swamps to expansive savannahs. You might even catch a glimpse of a magnificent lion stalking its prey or a graceful leopard relaxing in a tree branch!
The incredible Lake Eyasi lies at the south-western end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, between the spectacular Eyasi escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and the magnificent Kidero Mountains, just 133 km (95 miles) west of the awe-inspiring Lake Manyara. Lake Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe Bushmen and is one of the few remaining places in Africa where tribal life has remained relatively untouched by development. The Hadzabe have called Lake Eyasi home for more than 10,000 years! They still maintain a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, making them one of the last bastions of ancient African tribal life.
A visit to the Hadzabe country is an incredible opportunity to gain a unique and unforgettable insight into an ancient culture.
So, after breakfast, our safari guide will drive you to Lake Eyasi, where you will have the chance to meet the Hadzabe tribe face-to-face. You will also be able to stretch your legs by walking around Lake Eyasi and visiting a local village to experience the authentic African way of life. After all these amazing activities, you will be brought back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, set off on an unforgettable journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, sometimes called the 8th wonder of the world!
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought-after safari destinations in the world, and it's easy to see why! This incredible place is home to over 120 species of mammals, including the legendary Big Five. It's an amazing place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a solitary meal on the grassy plains, as well as large numbers of hippos enjoying the cool water!
From the comfort of your open vehicle, you'll be able to see and photograph some of Africa's most recognisable faces! The crater is home to a huge variety of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals and hyenas, as well as a large population of wildebeest, zebra, antelope, Cape buffalo and more! And there's more! This is a biosphere reserve where man (Maasai) and wildlife coexist. It is truly one of Africa's premier safari destinations!
After the thrills and excitement of the day, enjoy a picnic lunch at the park's famous hippo pool. Then drive to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport, depending on your next programme!
