Get ready for an amazing adventure! You'll be picked up in Moshi in the morning by our friendly, English-speaking guide. Together, you'll embark on a journey to the incredible Materuni Village. Once you arrive, you'll get to register at the village office and then you'll be ready to go!
The first stop on your incredible journey is the breathtaking waterfalls, just a short 40-minute walk away. On the way, your guide will regale you with fascinating insights into the culture of the Chagga, the intricacies of village life and the splendour of the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are absolutely incredible, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the summit of Kilimanjaro! The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an absolute must for a refreshing swim! So don't forget your swimwear!
After you've taken in the incredible scenery, you'll slowly make your way back to Materuni village with your guide. There, you'll get to experience a traditional Chagga lunch! And there's more! You'll also get to taste our local banana beer, which is an absolute must!
And there's more! And now for something really special! Get ready for the coffee experience of a lifetime. Now for something really special! Here you will learn how coffee was first grown, as it is not a native plant in this area. You will also get to know how it is currently cultivated and processed. Then, in a truly unique experience, you will join the locals to process your cup of coffee in a local way, without the use of electrical machines.
After an amazing coffee tour in Materuni, get ready for an incredible two-hour drive to Chemka/Kikuletwa Hot Springs! Depending on the season, we'll get to see some amazing sights! First, we'll pass through sugar cane plantations, and then we'll come to the African scrubland. And all the way, we're greeted by the most incredible sights: dried river beds, baobab and acacia trees waving to us on our way! The water in Kikuletwa is not actually 'hot' as you might expect, but it is delightfully refreshing! It is sourced from Kilimanjaro itself, which is pretty amazing.
Enjoy an amazing afternoon just the way you want! You can soak up the sun, chat with the locals at the bar, or go for a swim – it's up to you! We leave the hot springs in the late afternoon (just before sunset) and return to Moshi feeling relaxed and refreshed.
